Emergency funding to support Covid-19 response

Covid-19 is bringing unprecedented and challenging times to Leicestershire’s communities. Voluntary and community organisations are working around-the-clock to support vulnerable people and protect the welfare and wellbeing of those who have nowhere else to turn. Their services are needed now more than ever.

To support their efforts, I have decided to expand my PCC Prevention Fund to include applications which can support communities to cope with the impact of Covid-19 and channel emergency help to where it is needed most.

The need to work together has never been more crucial. An extra £100,000 will now be available through my PCC Prevention Fund during 2020-21 to tackle Covid-19. This is on top of my original pledge to invest £250,000 into our communities and will equip our partners with the resources they need to deliver much needed care to local people during this crisis.

I would be particularly interested in supporting projects which not only mobilise resources and react positively to the challenges posed by Covid-19 but which can also show a demonstrable link and positive impact on my priorities too.

My team will aim to making funding decisions as quickly as possible to maximise support for local people.
