Sir Clive and the Chief Constable Simon Cole were among the invited guests at the Service of Reinternment of the remains of King Richard III.

They joined 600 invited guests to witness the King’s mortal remains being laid to rest in Leicester Cathedral, before returning the following day to attend the Service of Reveal of the Tomb.

The Force was at the heart of the week-long historic celebrations last month which saw thousands of people from across the world gather in Leicester for the reinternment of King Richard III.

Watched by millions of TV viewers around the world, several hundred Leicestershire Police officers were involved in policing the events, including Special Constables and dogs and their handlers from the Tactical Dogs and Firearms Unit.

Four horse-mounted officers from the City of London Police also played a highly visible part, escorting the coffin from St Nicholas Church in Leicester to the Cathedral.
