Festive cheer and the spirit of giving took the villages of Twyford and Thorpe Satchville by storm this week when the Melton Round Table’s Santa Sleigh Event came around raising money for good causes.
Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Police and Crime Commissioner Rupert Matthews did his bit collecting money and celebrated the efforts of Melton Round Table.
Melton Round Table aim to raise £500 for local community projects such as local schools, scouts, and charities throughout Melton Mowbray.
Mr Matthews said: “In spite of a bitterly cold evening we all had fun and saw scores of people donating what they could.
No matter the amount it all adds up and is always heartening to meet people helping each other out and giving money to support their area. Melton Round Table a great organisation guided by a sense of local pride and united in the spirit of volunteering and I am so pleased to have been invited along.
Santa and his team are working their way around Melton during December so be sure to donate and join in where you can its great fun and all for a good cause.
