High Cost Interventions
A crime prevention technique that deters offenders from commiting theft, as well as making stolen goods easier to identify, thus increasing recovery. Smart Water is an invisble, forensic liquid that is used to mark property and assets. When sprayed on a person, the solution can stay on the skin or clothing, for up to 6 weeks, is only visbile under a Ultra Violet (UV) light. The Smart Water is specfically linked to the victim, and when it has been deployed, the offender is directly linked to the offence, a well as the location in which the incident occurred. There are different methods in which the forensic solution can be deployed, including a handheld spray that can be carried by the victim around their property or in public, forensic greases which can be used to mark door handles or window frames, as well as a domestic abuse spray system, which is a multi-functional unit that activates a panic alarm to the police communications centre, as well as deploying the solution.
