People Zones is an initiative that is designed to build on the positivity and skills of communities around Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to make these areas safer for everyone.
In these zones, we utilise an Asset-Based Community Development – or ABCD approach. Instead of focusing on what’s wrong with an area, the ABCD approach focuses on the strengths of our communities, harnessing the skills and networks within them to build towards positive change.

"To grow safer communities by building on strengths, creating connections and empowering everyone to play a role."
Our Beaumont Leys People Zone is where we are currently focusing our work, bringing together residents, businesses, community groups and partner organisations to address local issues and support positive change.
We also stay connected with our Legacy Zones in New Parks, Bell Foundry (Loughborough), and Thringstone and Whitwick, where the relationships built over time continue to grow.
Our team works alongside local people to build connections and support positive change in each Zone.
