There is strong evidence that Reachable Moment Intervention reduces repeat victimisation and offending. Redthread's hospital based programme saw a 20% reduction in re-admittance rates amongst young people who accepted support.
The ENGAGE programme reported that 77% of participants felt safer, and 73% reported reduced risk of harm post-intervention. Other programmes have seen reductions in knife violence, hospital admissions for assaults, non-domestic knife homicides.
However, effectiveness is dependent on consistent delivery, multi-agency coordination, and follow-up support.
