Medium Cost Intervention
Structured interventions that engage men in gender-transformative education, self-reflection, and community responsibility. They challenge harmful norms, promote empathy, and foster accountability for preventing violence. They reduce perpeatration of violence, promote respectful relationships, transform harmful masculinities, engage men as allies in prevention, and improve safety for women and girls.
Curriculum & licensing: £3,000-£10,000
Train-the-trainer model: £500-£1,000 per facilitator
Programme delivery: £4,000-£8,000 per cohort

A regression has been noted in men's attitudes towards sexual violence, with a 17% drop since 2021 in 18-25 year old men recognising that women are not responsible for preventing sexual violence.
Research shows that for these programmes to work, they must 'transform harmful masculinities and challenge the social norms that drive VAWG'.
Gender transformative programmes can reduce violence by 30-50% over 2-3 years. However, for this desired outcome, accountability to women's organisations is essential. Programme quality and design are crucial.
