Low Cost Intervention
Digital Literacy Workshops equip young people with the skills to safely navigate online spaces, helping them identify/understand misinformation, avoid harmful content, protect their privacty, and engage positively online.
Used to reduce vulnerability to online grooming, radicalisation, cyberbullying, and digital exploitation - promoting resilience and wellbeing. Aim to help youth engage responsibly in digital environments.
Facilitator fees: £500-£1,200
Workshop materials: £100-£300
Venue hire (if not in-kind): £100-£400
Technology access (devices, WiFi): £200-£600
Evaluation tools and reporting: £100-£300
Total per cohort (20-30 participants): £1,000-£2,800
Curriculum selection/design: 2-4 weeks
Facilitator recruitment: 1-2 weeks
Participant outrech/prep: 1-2 weeks
Delivery (1-3 sessions): 1-2 weeks
Evaluation & follow-up: 2-3 weeks

Annual Maintenance Cost per site £1,000-£5,000
This includes curriculum updates, facilitator refreshers, tech maintenance, and ongoing evaluation. Programmes can be annual, or embedded into school curriculums.

Youth with strong digital literacy are 3x more likely to report high mental wellbeing. Programmes like Growing Against Violence and YourPolice.UK show promising results in reducing online grooming, cyberbullying, and gang recruitment.
